Hi! I'm Sol!
I'm a graphic designer from St. Louis, currently attending the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design as a Communication Design Major. I got my start in design in high school. I spent half my time during my junior and senior year at South County Technical High School, where I was introduced to foundational design skills. I got serious about design a year after graduating, when I studied graphic design for a couple years at Saint Louis Community College. Now that I'm at MIAD, I'm really focusing on polishing my skills to a professional level.
In my practice, I focus on refining and perfecting design fundamentals to create elegant, powerful, and stylish solutions with strong experiential hooks. My personal design philosophy is that the end goal of design is creating a narrative. I try to blend research and my own voice to help my designs tell a story that resonates with my audience. The reason I love design is because it's difficult. The process of design holds the power to alter my methodology for things unrelated to itself. It holds weight over my ability to empathize, to think critically, and to appreciate my environment through a different lens.
